Fisher-Price Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair Reviews

This high chair is easy to assemble and use, easy to clean and is not an eyesore. The wheel locks work fairly well. The one problem is that the tray itself has to be pushed pretty far towards the seat back in order to truly lock into place. If it is clicked onto the arms away from the seat, it either hangs loose enough to risk food falling or it won’t lock at all. We tried several, it is not a problem with our particular chair, it is just a design quirk. If your child quite skinny, no problem. But if normal or chubby, the tray will likely push against their ribs as they get up to 10+ months old.

After 7 kids in a sturdy Perego high chair (which I replaced the seat pad once & found a whole chair replacement another time on ebay), I was disapointed it would need to be replaced again for my 8th child. Since they no longer make the pads and I was not happy with the new style – or spending 0 . . . . I came here first to see what other options were out there.
Anyway – the first alternative I saw was this cute Rainforest chair! I was sold right away from the picture, the price, and the reviews! I quickly checked out some other chairs – but, nothing else came close. The Perego we had was sturdy, basic looking, white & chrome . . . . this time around we are going for cheap and fun! It is definitly more light weight – but it actually seems ok – sturdy enough! The seat could use some more padding – I’m going to take the extra little pillow rest from the car seat and stick it under the seat and that should work. We do not have the tray problem that others have mentioned – it is snug and secure. One reason, though, I did not give 5 stars is that there is no place to hang the tray when the toy is in use! Really irritating. What is funny, though, is that you can hang the toy on the back of the chair – the whole thing sticks out horizontally . . .
Everyone loves helping in the entertainment department with the toy. The harness was a great idea! Our previous chair did not recline so we are looking forward to this feature . . . In my opinion wheels are essential – 16 years ago Perego was about the only one with this feature – they really come in handy.
As far as clean-up goes all looks well except the piping – why did they have to use fabric? And looks – well it’s very attractive, but – even my husband frowned at the beige instead of white. So, these two little things in addition to the lack of a tray hanger got it only 4 stars.
Overall – this is my favorite new baby thing! Now – I think we’ll also try the jumperoo!
11/20/07: UPDATE: Now that we have been using this highchair for a few months I have found that the self-locking wheels are driving me crazy! No one ever goes to the trouble to actually lock them – but, several times a day I find myself fighting the chair across the kitchen floor only to inspect each wheel and then unlock which ever ones have locked themselves.
AND we did get the Jumperoo which the baby enjoys – especially now that she is a little older.

We liked the look of this high chair and being first time parents believed it had the functionality we needed. The chair is fine overall, but very difficult to clean. The removable dishwasher tray is easily removable – so easy to remove that it is the first thing my 9 month old son does when he gets in the chair. So that’s useless and he just eats on the main tray, which is not easy to clean. The tray has many places for food to get stuck, which are very difficult to clean, and I would say the same thing for the rest of the chair. As the tray does not extend out very far over the sides of the chair it is easy for my son to reach down and grab them, getting food stuck in the cracks where the pieces come together. Without a taking the entire chair apart (and I mean into pieces using a screwdriver) you’ll never be able to get it really clean. I wouldn’t buy this chair again or recommend it to a friend for that reason.

Fisher-Price Space Saver High Chair – Tan Reviews

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1NSF485667EKV A video review of the Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair.

The chair was exactly what we were looking for. Our dining area is fairly small so using our existing dining chair does save space. The booster chair feels secure as it secures both behind and under the dining chair with buckle straps. It also has non-skid rubber feet on the bottom of all four corners. The 3-point to 5-point harness is helpful for keeping the baby in place. We were using one of those cheapy plastic block booster chairs and our 7-month old kept slouching underneath the tray. The contoured seat in the Space Saver High Chair helps to prevent that.
The adjustable height was useful for raising the tray to just above our table level so we could slide the whole chair underneath when not in use. I’m not sure when we’d recline the seat, but I guess it’s a nice option to have.
The chair reminds me of a car seat, and as such, keeps our baby in place while feeding. The one-handed release of the tray and the highly adjustable settings are convenient options. I don’t think I could ask for anything more out of a booster chair. Perhaps a built-in iPod adapter with speakers built into the tray or something. Just kidding
The model I purchased is the J5933, but there is another model, L1907. According to a couple of customers who researched them, the differences are basically color. Kudos to them for researching them and clearing that up.

Fisher-Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat – Red/White Reviews

I originally bought the “Swing Tray – Portable Booster Seat” because it was cheaper and I thought that it would be just as good. Well, it fell apart. I got this one and have been very please. It’s is like a travel version of the Healthy Care Highchair. There is a removeable feeding tray that can be put in the dishwasher. It has a cup holder and snaps right on to the main (blue) tray. There are three different height settings. This is great for traveling because different tables can be different heights. The back of the car and the trays are removeable, turning the seat into a booster for older and/or larger children. The seat is all one piece and there are no seams or crevices for food to get stuck in. It also makes the seat very easy to clean. The seat has a three-point seatbelt that adjusts, so it can accomodate a growing baby and toddler. The booster folds up and even has a shoulder strap to make it easier to travel with. There is a lid that snaps onto the feeding tray. It is also dishwasher safe. I like the cover you can put on the tray, just so you know it’s not getting dirty. There are straps on both sides and on the back of the seat. This makes it much easier to fit onto a variety of chairs. This is great especially when eating out.

I have made some unbelievably moronic choices when it comes to baby gear. This was definately not one of them!
I had originally wanted to just go with an infant to toddler feeding station set up, but then I saw and purchased a Peg Pergeo Prima Pappa out of the PennySaver. Oooooh, Peg Perego… Had to have it…
I hated hated hated HATED that chair. It was huge. The tray was too high. It had a zillion and one little nooks and crannies to get food into. I ended up shoving it back and forth between the kitchen and the laundry room for months. Once my baby really got into eating solids (which he didn’t do until 7 months) I fed him in his bouncy, on the floor. I just didn’t want to deal with cleaning that high chair. Even once he got to be a better (neater) eater, the space issues drove me bananas.
I sold it – at a loss – and bought the Fisher Price booster seat instead.
I love love love LOVE this little chair.
First of all, it goes on our dining room chair – so it takes up no additional space. My baby fits in it very comfortably – it is just his size. I can put Cheerios on the tray for him and he can pick them up and eat them (although it does seem he drops and sits in them about half the time, too…) No nooks and crannies so clean up is easy. We can easily pack it up and take it to a resturaunt and he is so happy to sit in his little seat, smack the tray, play with his toys, eat his Cheerios – we are able to eat out in public again. I never thought I would be a germophobic parent but I do appreciate being able to take our own seat along from a cleanliness aspect, too. This chair is inexpensive enough that if you are lazy, or just like to be prepared, you could even buy two and always keep one in the trunk of your car for going out.
I don’t really see the point in having the tray insert – the tray is so easy to wipe down but, who knows. Maybe it will come in handy some time.
I do have some concerns about this chair really suiting a child from infant to toddler. It does not recline, as some of the other boosters do. However, in my experience, my child really was not ready to eat until he was able to sit up right. I think that a lot of people force solids onto children too soon, partly in hopes of getting their kid to sleep through the night sooner, partly out of deference to grandparents. You can always feed your baby in his bouncy, if he needs a reclining feeding seat.
It does seem a little small to fit a toddler into, but once the tray is removed and it is used as just a booster seat, it will probably be fine. I really like that your child can get so close to the table using this little seat.
Thumbs up, way way up, for this little seat. I plan to buy two more as baby gifts for my brother and cousin who are expecting babies in October (not with each other).
–Update–
I had twins last year and we needed a second booster. I wanted to get the same one and we went to TRU to get one – but they only had the yellow and orange one. I did notice it didn’t have the extra tray, but I also noticed it cost less. Since the extra tray was kind of useless anyway, I didn’t mind much. So we got the yellow and orange one and took it home and then I realized the height doesn’t adjust like it does for the green and blue one. Arg, I thought. Then I thought, does it really matter?? The yellow and orange one is at the same height as the blue and green one when it is in the 2nd/middle position. So I just put the blue/green one in the second position, set the chairs up next to each other, and let the girls eat. Works just fine. I was a little miffed at the cutting out of features but it’s nice that the price is lower – and really these features aren’t needed. I’d assumed the blue/green one was d/c’ed when I only saw the yellow but I guess that’s not the case. So blue and green, or yellow and orange – they’re both good.

Fisher-Price Precious Planet Collection High Chair, Blue Sky Reviews

I researched long and hard before buying this highchair. I”m pretty obsessive about choosing baby products, so it’s no easy feat to settle on something. I needed something that was fun for my baby, easy to use, versatile, and fairly inexpensive. Voila. My husband and I put it together in about 15 minutes. We started sitting our daughter in it when she was almost 6 months old, and it was perfect for her needs. She’s pretty chunky, and fit in there no problem, with the straps on the lower setting. The recline feature is helpful as well, since different babies will feel comfortable in different positions for eating. My daughter loves the toy that comes with it; her little face gets all concentrated as she bats at it and makes the pieces spin. I wish it were a little easier to secure to the tray; the suction cup is no match for a determined baby. I love that the tray has a snap-out feature, which is much easier for our smaller dishwasher, and makes cleaning much easier. The fabric is bright and fun and holds baby’s interest, and is machine washable, thank god. I also like that it’s fabric, and not vinyl; the components in vinyl are so bad for baby to be breathing in. The straps are easy to remove and can be thrown in the dishwasher as well. The wheels seem to lock and release just when I need them to, and I can pull the chair from the carpeted dining room into our tile kitchen, and all around the house, with one hand and minimal steering and effort. It’s relatively compact, and folds for storage when needed. I would definitely recommend this over the higher-priced model that Fisher Price makes.

I had been looking at high chairs for a bit before I decided on this one and I am very happy with it. It’s a very bright and cute little chair. The ears on the giraffe are 3D I guess and my son loves turning around to bat at them, which can be annoying when you’re waiting there with a spoonful of peas but its cute enough to forgive. I liked the chair pad a lot more than other chairs, it seemed much more comfy for my boy than the thin vinyl covers others had. People claim those vinyl covers are easier to clean but I haven’t had any trouble with cleaning mine. I keep baby wipes nearby to wipe my sons face and hands while I feed him and I’ve not needed anything else to clean the pad. Even when I don’t notice he’s smeared something on the chair and it’s dried up its a snap to clean off.

Graco Easy Chair Highchair, Tango in the Tongo Reviews

We bought this for our first son after getting tired of going over all the features of other, more expensive high chairs. It worked perfectly and we never had a problem with it. Our son sat securely in from 5 months until he moved to a booster. We paid .99 for this chair and turned around and sold it two years later for . Not a bad deal! We would have kept it, but with our small dining area, it no longer would work with baby #2 and we needed something that folds up. It is big, but if that isn’t a problem, then I recommend this chair. All those fancy features really are over-rated.

I purchased this for our home when the grandkids come over, it works very well for our purpose and it sturdy, The more expensive one fold down which would come in handy but I feel like it was a great buy for the money
