BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original – City Black Reviews

This carrier is the best! My son is child #5 and I have had a carrier for each one. This last one is definately the best! Not wanting to spend this much money on a “carrier” of all things, I researched and considered carefully before purchasing this. All reviews and reports were accurate…This is definately worth the extra dollars.
The ease of use is remarkable. I can get baby in and out all by myself. From the day after Luca and I arrived home from the hospital, we were out for our daily walks. I sing in our church choir every Sunday and Luca is in his Bjorn close to me and we have never missed a Mass! It is always in the diaper bag when we shop because he ultimately ends up in his carrier. Even at age 13 months I use this daily! Now he sits forward in it and charms all he sees!
My older boys take Karate 5 days a week, so Luca is in the carrier facing forward and watching his brothers. My other mom friends are struggling with their toddlers and mine is content in his BJORN! A few of them even went out and purchased it after seeing how easy it is to use. Now we have our own section where we stand and let our babies talk and interact with eachother. My little guy is so content in his that I can even sit down using mine!
The BABY BJORN has become a regular part of my wardrobe! Before I get in the car, I put on my BJORN. I have two strollers in the back of the van but I never use them! This carrier is where he is most content!
Shopping, trips to the vet, doctors, karate, weekly Mass, recently a trip to the funeral home for a close relative, football games and sporting events, pumpkin patch and corn mazes, parades, summer carnivals festivals and picnics, I even ran stand for our church’s picnic last summer with my baby in his BJORN…and oh… the list just goes on and on.
I cannot praise this enough for the convenience it has added to my family’s life. There is NO staying home using the new baby as an excuse when your baby is #5! This carrier makes it so much easier! Easy in, easy out! When Luca falls asleep in his car seat he goes in this facing me. When he wakes up, he faces out. I can unfasten this and turn him aropund and re-fasten him without putting him down or passiong him off to someone else…that is the amazing feature of this wonderful product!
Seems intimidating at fira=st but believe me, you catch on fast! I cannot tell you how many of these I have sold in stores I just happened to be in shopping! Exasperated parents would just approach me asking me where I got my carrier. Several times I actually watched parents take this from the box on the shelves, put baby in, and pay for it on the way out!
No backaches for me. I am about 5’7″ and weigh about 115lbs. Luca is about 23 lbs. I have no complaints and on karate nights I am wearing him for about 90 minutes!
Unfortunately I have never figured out how to nurse baby when in this. I do recall reading that you could but I have found it impossible, at least for me.
You put your arms through the straps and the front of the carrier is open, you then take the front piece and snap it on (very easy) You can then place your baby on you and hold him/her with one arm and pick up the front of the carrier and bring it up over baby sliding the built in post-like fasteners into their respective color coded openings on the straps. Baby is safe secure and mom/dad has 2 free hands!
You really will not be sorry you splurged on this!
Great great product!

My husband (6′ 1″) insisted on the Baby Bjoern with the extra-long straps. I am happy to report that it is magnificent, even for short people! (I’m only 5′ 3″.) It converts to fit either one of us quickly and easily and I have always felt that our son was snug and secure inside. Now that he’s older (6 months), he LOVES to face outward and see where we’re headed. We toured Colonial Williamsburg (lots of walking and wandering in and out of colonial buildings), quickly and easily with the BB. While other mommies struggled with their strollers and couldn’t get into many of the buildings, we whisked through everything safely and easily.
I know many people are concerned that they won’t use it enough to justify the price – my response is that you need to make yourself use it! Try it out during a simple walk through the mall or your neighborhood. As you grow accustomed to it you’ll realize how easy it is to hook on and go.
Enjoy! I HIGHLY recommend this product!

Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining
The ERGO is the way to go when it comes to baby carriers. It’s the best all around choice for carrying a baby anywhere from around the house to public places. The ERGO baby carrier is conveniently compact, comfortable to wear and provides sturdy support for your baby. The ergonomic design of the carrier ensures that your baby is in the correct sitting position to encourage proper hip, pelvis and spine growth. It does this by distributing most of the baby’s weight between its hips and thighs. The design also considers the health and comfort of parents. The carrier balances the baby’s weight to the parents’ hips and shoulders, reducing physical stress. The padded waist belt supports the lumbar area plus 1″ thick padding in the shoulder straps. It can be worn on front, back or hip and can easily be changed from one to the other. Ergo is perfect for when baby is too heavy for a sling or for when you plan on carrying your baby for extended periods of time, especially for hiking and walking. Unlike other frame back packs, with the ERGO the baby is right against your back so their weight seems less. When carrying a traditional hard frame back pack, your baby’s center of gravity is further from your body and can be awkward and feel heavier. For comfortably carrying your infant, try the ERGO Infant Insert (sold separately). It supports your newborn like a baby sling while having both hands free to work. This lightweight carrier lets you carry your baby comfortably for long periods with your hands free and it looks great too. Features: Recommended use from newborn (with additional Infant Insert sold separately) up to 40 lbs Adjusts for most sizes, waist circumference extends from 25″ up
- Waist belt circumference from 25″ to 43″
- Fits from 5′ to 6.5′ body height with adjustable shoulder and chest straps
- Durability/strength tested up to 90 pounds
- High Quality buckles tested by SGS

Ergo Baby Carrier Black with Camel Lining Reviews

and so do I! I started out with the Moby wrap and that worked fairly well for us, but it was a hot to wear, inconvenient to wrap when out and about, and tricky (but possible) to nurse in. I knew I wanted something else, but baby carriers are expensive and one could easily spend a fortune trying out all the variations.
We decided on the Ergo and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve had it for six months now and it is the number one thing I could not live without as far as all baby gear is concerned. I too was worried about her only facing inwards, but she has never minded and she seems to prefer it. She holds on like a little koala bear as we go about our daily business. Unlike the Moby, she isn’t flat against my chest, she’s sitting, so that she can easily check out the scenery by looking to the sides.
When she was big enough–probably in the neighborhood of 5.5 or 6 months, I started wearing her on my back and that is great! Now when I do those glorious household tasks like cleaning toilets and baseboards, she isn’t dangling off the front of me. We get a lot more cleaning done now that she can ride on my back.
At first, I needed help to put her on my back. However, now that she’s 9 months and can hold on a bit, I can get her on easily–I even trust our abilities over concrete these days (when I started getting her into the back carry position on my own, I would practice over the couch. It *was* tricky at first (we made some mistakes), but once we got the hang of it, it wasn’t a problem at all.
My husband can wear her too and it’s simple to readjust the straps so that they fit both of us.
Like any of the carriers, this one takes some practice (though the front carry is about as easy as it can get). Breastfeeding in this for me is difficult, but I can do it in a pinch. I can carry her long distances and after a long while (probably 4-5 miles), my neck will hurt a bit, but my back is fine.
My daughter loves her Ergo in the way some kids take to a lovey. She’ll stop by and give it a visit when she’s crawling around exploring the house. When I see her chewing on the straps (they second as a favorite teething toy) or playing peek-a-boo with them, I’ll put it on and she gets all excited (we compare it to the way a dog gets excited when his owner gets out the leash to take him for a walk). It is very sweet and funny. When she went for her first trip to our friend’s house to be babysat, the only thing that would calm her when she was sad was being carried in her Ergo. If she has a meltdown when she’s home with daddy, the Ergo saves the day (she just needs to play with it–not even ride in it).
I love the time my daughter and I spend walking our neighborhood with her in the Ergo. Sometimes we’re quiet and other times she’ll make happy bounces and that’s my cue to do some hops and bounces for her. Our family members wonder why we never need a stroller. “Isn’t she heavy?” they ask. They think we’re a little weird. I don’t know any parents out there who will look back on their child’s life and wish that perhaps they had carried him/her less. We don’t carry her all the time, but we do carry her more. The forward-facing position allows for optimal baby head-kissing…now who wouldn’t want more of that? (except maybe the baby
)–but a few more here and there are always nice, especially if you can sneak them in when they’re asleep or not looking.
Hug your baby, carry your baby, dance with your baby…the Ergo will let you have more time to do those things *and* maybe get the dishes done too
.

We have a Baby Bjorn (Original) as well as an Ergo baby carrier. I think both have their advantages and disadvantages, which I will try to explain below.
We purchased the Ergo carrier before our daughter was born based on the recommendation of a friend. However, we found that she could not sit in it comfortably at first. Before your baby can straddle your torso (until about 4 months/15 lbs), you have to put both legs on one side. I watched the instructional DVD several times and tried to place her into the carrier as comfortably as possible, but she did not like it at all. It didn’t look comfortable either with her back twisted and body squished. This is when we decided to try the original Baby Bjorn carrier.
Our daughter loved being in the Bjorn (facing in or out). This carrier is easy to put on and take off and quite compact. However, it was not very comfortable for me (especially as she got heavier) since it put a lot of pressure on my back and shoulders. The fact that there is no waist belt and little padding on the shoulder straps probably contributes to this. The newer Baby Bjorn Active carrier with lumbar support may alleviate some of these problems. (I haven’t tried this product though, so I’m not speaking from personal experience). We used the Bjorn until she turned 4 months (about 15 lbs).
I was so relieved when she could finally fit into the Ergo properly (with one leg on each side). It is so much easier on my back and shoulders. With the Bjorn, I could maybe last 15 minutes (at 15 lbs). With the Ergo, I can comfortably go for an hour or two (at almost 20 lbs now). I go grocery shopping and on longer walks this way. She seems very comfortable in it now. She’s happy whenever I put her in it and will even go to sleep in it. (Sometimes, this is the only way I can get her to sleep). It looks a lot more comfortable than the Bjorn since she’s sitting in it as opposed to being suspended from her crotch. I also don’t have any trouble nursing discretely in the Ergo.
Around 6 months I also began carrying her on my back in the Ergo, which was even easier on my back. I have found this to be really convenient when doing things around the house such as vacuuming, doing laundry, cooking etc. It’s also nice for outdoor activities like apple picking, strawberry picking, hiking etc. I find these activities somewhat more difficult when carrying a baby in front. While it is easy to put your baby in the front carrying position by yourself, it takes some practice to wear your baby on your back. At first, I needed somebody to help me get her situated on my back, but now I can easily do it by myself. Some may not like the fact that you cannot face your baby outward in the Ergo (and some babies may not like facing inward). This has not been a problem for us. While our daughter loved facing outward in the Bjorn, she did not object to facing inward in the Ergo. Rather than being pressed up against me, she’s sitting in it, so she can still look at things to the sides. One more thing about the Ergo – I would recommend purchasing the sucking pads (ERGO Sucking Pads – Cream). Our daughter loves sucking on the straps and it’s just much more convenient to wash the sucking pads rather than the whole carrier.
In summary, I think that both, the Bjorn as well as the Ergo, are good carriers, each with some drawbacks. The Bjorn is wonderful for a newborn up to about 12-15 lbs. Being able to have your baby facing in or out is a nice feature. Because of the strain on your back however, I would not recommend using this carrier with older/heavier babies. The Ergo is great for babies starting at around 15 lbs or when they are able to wrap their legs around you. It is much easier on your back and being able to carry your baby on your back can be convenient. For us, the Ergo was not very useful before our daughter turned 4 months as she was not comfortable with her legs on one side, but this probably depends on the baby.
I would rate the Bjorn 3 stars (because it’s so hard on your back and we could only use it for a few months) and the Ergo 4 stars (because we couldn’t use it with our newborn). My recommendation would be to get one of each if you can. We bought a gently used Bjorn for less than , and I have seen a lot of these on Ebay as well as Craigslist. Maybe you could even borrow one from a friend. It just seems like a lot of money to spend on something you aren’t going to use for very long. However, I loved carrying my newborn around in it, so I wouldn’t have wanted to do without it.

Infantino Front 2 Back Rider Baby Carrier in Black and Grey Reviews

I purchased this carrier after registering for and receiving the Parents of Invention Ultimate Baby Mei Tai Black Reversible One-Size-Fits-All for my baby shower. The Mei Tai had received good reviews, and was supposed to fit larger sized people, so we thought it would be good for my husband and I. While it is a good carrier, it is very hard to get my daughter in and out of it alone. This Infantino carrier had gotten great reviews (well deserved), so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad we purchased it! My daughter (11 weeks old) is very comfortable riding in front, facing in and, very recently, facing out. It is easy to adjust to any body, and has a lumbar support which we both find helpful and comfortable. It doesn’t become uncomfortable after a long period of time. It fits both my husband and me just fine, and we are both on the larger side. Best yet, it is very easy to drop my daughter in on my own, and to take her out is just as simple. I feel like she is in there securely, and it can easily be adjusted while she is in to make it fit her perfectly. All in all, a great bargain- my only wish is that we had registered for this carrier first!

This carrier works great. Once you get it figured out the first time, it is really easy to put on and put your child in – even with no help from anyone else. The straps are comfortable and it is soft and comfy for the baby. You can face your child in or out and put them on your front or back. This carrier fits well on either me (and I am pretty petite) or my husband – it can be adjusted to fit any size.
I honestly don’t see why you need to spend more money on the big name brand carriers like the BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Synergy – Black- this one is fabulous. I’ve got no complaints.

Ergo Baby Sport Baby Carrier Reviews

After reading many online reviews, asking other baby-wearers, and trying four other baby carriers, It is my opinion that the Ergo is the best carrier for my baby and for me. I will tell you what I love about the Ergo style in general, and then what I like specifically about the Ergo Sport, followed by the things I don’t love about the carrier. Finally I will talk about how I think my 7month-old daughter feels about the Ergo.
First, what I like about the Ergo in general: I like that the Ergo baby carrier puts most of the baby’s weight on your hips, making it much more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. It also has very nice padded shoulder straps. Next, I love that my baby is in a healthy seated position,(and as far as I can observe, she is also more comfortable.) I have read that carriers offering the front carry position (this one doesn’t) are not good for your baby, because instead of being seated, they are just kind of hanging from their crotch and that it puts too much pressure on their spine and hips. Versatility–I really appreciate that the Ergo offers three different carry positions: Back, Front, and Hip (your baby faces in toward you in each of these positions.) A good carrier should carry your baby like you would–close and high. This carrier does that. Also, the Ergo has a “sleep hood” which I can pull over my sleeping baby to keep her head from bouncing around. It can also provide privacy for your baby to nurse in the carrier if you choose. Lastly, because of how it is designed, you can carry heavier children in it (it’s rated for up to forty pounds), so you can use the same carrier for your baby, or your toddler. The Ergo is to be used only when a child can support his own head well, but there is an infant insert you can buy to use before that. I have not comment on the insert, as my daughter was 6 months when we got it, so we did no purchase the insert.
I cannot compare the Ergo Sport to the original Ergo, because I have not tried the original, but these are the reasons I chose the Sport: First, it claims to be made of a more breathable material for more active and outdoor use–summer is coming, and my baby gets grouchy when she’s hot. Second. The straps are longer and I want a carrier that will fit my husband (who is a bigger guy) as well as myself. I have not yet tested the breathability in hot weather and sunshine, but the carrier is VERY comfortable, and seems to be super-durable and well-made. I’m pleased with my choice.
These are the things I don’t really love about this carrier: It does take some practice to become good at getting your baby into and out of it. The back carry position has been particularly tricky for me, but we are improving. Kind of along the same lines, some of the positions seem to put the straps and buckles kind of out of reach, so that I have to really strain to get everything all strapped and adjusted. I know I’m not as flexible as I used to be, but at thirty-two, it really seems like it shouldn’t be so tough. I’m confident that over time I will find what works best for my baby and for me, in getting her in and out of the different positions. Those are my only complaints, but I’m willing to live with them, because I don’t believe that the carrier could be made easier to use, without making it less comfortable and safe. Also, I know that some will object to the price. I personally think that a good baby carrier is something worth investing in, and I feel like the Ergo’s price is justified by it’s high quality, comfort, and safety.
Finally, if my baby could tell you what she thinks about the Ergo Sport I think she would say something like this: “I like that I am more comfortable for longer, and that my mommy is more comfortable so she lets me stay in it for longer. I like that I can nurse while Mom is making dinner. I do wish that the Ergo would let me face out instead of always facing in. I am not yet tall enough to really see well over the straps of the Ergo, and I like to be able to look straight forward, see everthing, grab everything, and kick my legs. I think as I get taller I will like it more.”
The Bottom Line: Most baby wearing enthusiasts will tell you that they use different slings, wraps and carriers for different purposes, such as slings or wraps (like “Hot Slings” ring slings or the “Moby Wrap”) for newborns; and more structured carriers (like the Ergo) for older babies, longer outings or hands-free housework. The Ergo offers quality, comfort and safety for you and your little one, at what I consider a fair price. I would definitely say it’s a good choice in baby carriers.

We have a Baby Bjorn, a Snugli and an Ergo Baby. The Ergo Baby is the one we use, the other two we donated to the salvation army.
The big advantage the Ergo has is the waist strap. This shifts a significant amount of weight to your hips. Otherwise the entire weight is held on your shoulders, which gets to be quite uncomfortable after a while.
By putting the weight on your hips, the Ergo Baby makes it possible to carry a child who weighs more and for a longer period of time. I wish we’d found this with our first child, as it would have saved us money (for the other ones we bought) and our aching backs!!!!
There’s also a couple of pockets – one with a zipper. Good place to put your cell phone, wallet, etc. The Snugli had a pocket with snap, while the Bjorn had none. The Ergo is not as sleek and attractive as our navy blue Bjorn. Our Ergo was a gift and it came in a pale turquoise. I think the black Ergo looks better, but it’s still not as sleek and stylish as the Baby Bjorn. Frankly, after a few weeks of a newborn crying at all hours, looking hip comes way down the list after comfort, convenience and sleep…. Just saying…
The only complaint would be that it takes some practice to use the side carry and rear carry positions. The DVD does show how it’s done, but it really helps to have someone who is familiar with the process or have someone spotting you the first time you use it in these positions.

Jeep 2-in-1 Baby Carrier Reviews

Got this for my Grandson…..looked at several of the more expensive carriers, but read good reviews of this one at a much lower price….my Grandson got in this the first time and absolutely loved it.

The carrier seemed to be a great deal and had some pretty good reviews, but when I tried it on, I had to tighten the straps all the way down to the shortest they will go, and it was still pretty loose. I consider myself fairly average in size and still have some baby weight on me, about 5’6″ and 145 lbs, and this was too large for me. When my son was in the carrier he felt secure, but the carrier holds him very high ( his head touches my chin) and I felt like I was going to tip over. It is nearly impossible to see where you are walking with him so high, I just can’t see around him to the floor. The holes for his arms when he is facing towards me were too far back, and I had to keep his arms in front of his chest and not in the arm holes. The holes are in the right spot if he faces forward though. I got a backache in about 20 minutes, not enough time to take a walk or do anything in the house, which is why I bought it. The best description for this carrier is to imagine a school backpack worn on your chest instead of your back. I gave it 3 stars because I think someone with a larger frame or a stronger back may have better luck with this carrier. It is easy to use and get the baby into, not complicated at all, which I know is untrue of many of the carriers out there. It also didn’t hurt my shoulders, which is another complaint of most carriers.

BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Air – Gray/White Reviews

Over the course of three children we have had FIVE carriers: Two slings, a Baby Bjorn, a Snugli and the Ergo Baby.
The Bjorn is definitely the best looking and easiest to use. The clips and connectors are very intuitive and it’s easy to get smaller infants into it.
The “Air” version is identical to the “Original” but with much more breathable fabric. Unfortunately this doesn’t address the biggest shortcoming of the carrier.
My big complaint is that when the kids get larger (or if you wear it for more than ~10 minutes at a time) it really starts to kill your back. This is because the design keeps all the weight on your shoulders. It’s like wearing a backpack BACKWARDS!
The “Active” and “Synergy” versions have wider straps with a center buckle and a lower strap “lumbar” strap which provides additional support over the “Original” While this distributes the weight better, it doesn’t put it on your hips. Oh, and it also makes it a lot more fiddly to put on.
If you backpack, you know what I’m talking about. A lightweight pack is fine for lugging 10 lbs of books to class, but if you want to be able to hike for an hour with 25+ lbs you have to shift the weight to your hips.
If you only plan to use this when grocery shopping and think you’ll give it up when they’re 6 months old, this might be for you. If you think you might want to go to the park and hang out, or use it even when the kid starts to crawl, then the Ergo Baby is probably more your speed. My wife can take our 25 lb 1 year old for 20 minute walks around the neighborhood in the Ergo Baby Carrier.
p.s. this is coming from a guy who is 6′, 180# and fit. My wife is smaller and far more critical of the ergonomics of this carrier.

We own the Baby Bjorn Active Carrier, and we all love it! However, it is too hot for summer heat, so we opted to purchase this item–the Baby Bjorn Air Carrier. Without the lumbar support, all of the baby’s weight is on the shoulders, and my husband could feel a huge difference. We didn’t know Baby Bjorn had a new “Air” carrier, the Synergy, until we visited their website. It is made out of the same fabric as this one but is designed like the Active Carrier. So we are returning this one for the Synergy. Your lower back is well-worth the extra money! One less trip to the chiropractor or massage therapist will make up the difference!

Ergo Baby Carrier – Camel
Features: Recommended use from newborn (with additional Infant Insert sold separately) up to 40 lbs Adjusts for most sizes, waist circumference extends from 25″ up
- 400 threads per inch cotton poplin lining and hood
- High Quality buckles tested by SGS
- Fits from 5′ to 6.5′ body height with adjustable shoulder and chest straps
- Sleeping hood adjusts in length to growth of baby

Ergo Baby Carrier – Camel Reviews

I am a babywearer, mostly for the convenience of having my baby on my person instead of lugging a stroller around, but the bonding time is a great benefit! I suffered with the Bjorn all through my first child’s infancy, but found the back strain progressed to intolerable by the time she 12-15 lbs. I discovered the ergo during my second child’s infancy and used it with the insert. It’s certainly been the most comfortable carrier for me and my DD. Liked it too that my husb could quickly adjust it to fit himself as well. Yet I found it bulky both to wear under a coat and when just carrying it around (esp traveling). I ended up using the Hotsling when DD was old enough to sit up on my hip (early- like 3months); even got my husb his own. Sling folds up easily into diaper bag; can work under a coat; quick on/off; doesn’t emphasize my “mommy-pooch” like the ergo’s waist strap does! Now DD is 1yo and I’m back to the ergo for my back’s sake. I’m revisiting all the old feelings as well…bulky to carry, hard to wear UNDER a coat, hate the muffin-top the strap creates around my hips and belly. Am finding it difficult to quickly adjust from front/back to side-carry as well. Ah, the sacrifices…

I bought the ergo baby carrier when my son was 8 months old as I’d seen it listed in Parenting magazine as a “best buy.” I will admit it took me a little bit of time to comfortably figure out how to shift my son onto my back and make sure he was properly in, but with a bit of practice, I figured it out. I have back problems and was concerned that carrying my son would be difficult, but this carrier puts all the weight on my hips and I can carry my son for HOURS. It has held up well and I now use it for my daughter who is 13 months. It holds up to a 40lb child (I think). I could still easily use it with my son who is 2.5 years and it would be like giving him a piggy back, only it wouldn’t pull on my back so much. The carrier is designed to having the baby on the front/side/or back. I don’t like it on the side as it pulls on my neck, but I do wear my daughter on my front if I’m going to be riding in a taxi or need to jiggle her to sleep on an airplane. I prefer it on my back as I find it more comfortable for me. I love that this carrier is so portable and light, unlike most backpacks.
Some babies who are use to sitting up high in a backpack may not like that they can’t see over your head, but if your child isn’t use to a backpack then they don’t know any better and will be happy just riding on your back.
The backpack has a pocket were I can stash some diapers and wipes and/or my wallet, so I don’t need a diaper bag if I’m dashing out for a bit. I do own the diaper bag that goes with this carrier (it will hook on) and I use that all the time, but I haven’t actually hooked it on to the back of the backpack.
If your baby is under 5 months, then there is an insert needed to carry the baby. I used my baby bjorn when my kids were little and even though we got the one with extra back support, I always felt their weight pulling on me. When I switched to the ergo carrier, I didn’t feel all that pull in my shoulders anymore. I would still recommend something like the baby bjorn for the tiny babies (so borrow one from a friend and then buy this one to use from the age of 5/6 months until whenever!)
Again, it took some PRACTICE to get use to putting my son on my back, but practice with a friend to make sure the child is safe and soon you’ll be slinging him on your back and trekking around in no time.

Moby Wrap Original 100% Cotton Solid Baby Carrier, Moss Reviews

This is number one on my list for how my husband, daughter and I have survived her months of colic! What we like about it:
- The Moby wrap was able to be used the day we brought our preemie baby home from the hospital.
- The Moby wrap swaddles your baby snuggly to you. If your baby likes swaddling as much as our does, this is the baby carrier for you.
- It spreads the weight out evenly across your back and shoulders and feels much better for longer periods of time (in comparison to our Baby Bjorn).
- There are a variety of ways to wear your baby with this carrier. We have used it 4 different ways so far. Being able to pull the cloth completely over her so she can sleep soundly is a plus. The instructions are easy to follow and while it looks difficult to put on, it really is quite simple after you’ve practiced it 3 or 4 times.
- The Moby wrap is easy to clean with being machine washable and dryable and there are no parts that can be broken or lost.
What we don’t like about the Moby wrap:
- If you plan on wearing your baby to go grocery shopping or other things out in public, you need to put it on before you leave the house. It can be difficult to put on in the car or in places where you do not feel comfortable with the wrap touching the floor (parking lot, public floor, etc.). This is not a big deal, but important to remember before you run out the door. During the cooler months, I put the Moby on, then my coat.
Bottom-line: The Moby wrap was an excellent purchase. Putting our daughter in it and walking around or bouncing on an exercise ball was one of the few ways to calm her during the height of her colic. Our daughter is now 5-months old and still enjoys the Moby. We expect to continue to use our Moby wrap for many more months.

I bough this wrap because my newborn wanted to be held constantly during his first couple months.
Pros:
- Can accommodate a number of different types of front and back holds.
- It is very comfortable to wear; as the wide fabric over the shoulder distributes the infants weight nicely.
- It can really snuggle your infant in good. You can even pull the fabric over the baby’s head a little to block light.
- My boy would sleep in this for a couple hours at a time when he was newborn to 8 weeks old.
- Washes up easily
Cons:
- Takes a bit of time to get used to putting on; at first it’s hard to get everything on tight enough but not too tight.
- Takes too long to put on and take off.
- The long length of fabric always ends up dragging on the floor as you put it on. Maybe not normally a big deal but it really sucked while camping.
- Too Bulky to stick in a diaper bag.
- As my baby got bigger it was too restraining for him and took too much fooling around to get him in it.
I really never used this wrap again after my baby was 12 weeks old or so. I ended up getting a Hotslings Sweet Pea Size 3 instead. This sling takes two seconds to put on, is small enough for my purse. It’s not as comfortable as the Moby sling but it is wonderful for portability and works great with babies that can hold their heads up. My little boy loves to ride in the hip sling position. One disadvantage for the hotsling is that they are sized (you and your husband might need different sizes.)
